What's new

What changed

New features, honest fixes, and changes to how the app works

new

Share your prayer as a picture

You can now share a prayer as a picture. Pick Story, Post or Square, then choose a background.

There are 22 backgrounds for everyone. Partners get more.

Spiritualrot also works on older iPhones now. It runs on iOS 16 and newer.

We have a new store name too: Spiritualrot Bible Prayer Lock.

new

Help us keep this app going

Today now shows a Partner goal card. Tap it to read why we built Spiritualrot, what Partners help us build, and how far we have come.

Partners are optional. Everything you read and pray stays open to you, with no ads. If you cannot support us right now, please do not feel bad. This app is for you.

Also new: a Skins chip on Today opens your skins in one tap, and the skin picker is faster.

new

Partners see the goal, Give more, and a Partner list

Partners now see the goal card and the goal page like everyone else. You can follow the goal even after you become a Partner.

The goal page has a new Want to give more row. It is a one-time give, on top of any plan, and every bit counts toward the goal.

After you help, you can choose to add your first name to the Partner list. It is your choice, and you can remove it any time.

Our App Store page now says it plainly: Spiritualrot locks the apps you pick until you read the Bible and pray. The Emergency unlock is described the way it works. It costs XP.

Prayer and the Bible stay open to you, with no ads.

new

You choose what you share

A new switch is in Settings, under Privacy. It says "Share anonymous usage".

When it is on, the app counts which tabs people open and which parts get used. It never knows who you are. It never sees what you read, pray, type or save. This helps us keep what helps and fix what does not.

You can turn it off any time. When it is off, the app stops sending these counts.

changed

Cancel in one tap

Cancel in one tap. Tap "Manage or cancel" in Your subscription, and Apple's own screen opens right away. There are no questions first.

The first Partner screen now has "Restore Purchases" on it. If you joined before, tap it to get your plan back.

Smaller fixes make a few screens clearer and the app steadier.

new

Plainer study, and clear sources

Study screens now use plain words. Titles say "What it means" and "Study more".

Lines from Calvin, Matthew Henry and others now say who taught them. Tap the small "i" to read who they were. A closed "Sources" list at the end shows where each idea comes from.

When a new version is ready, a small card on the Today screen tells you. Tap "Update now" or "See what's new". You can close it.

After your third day, the app may ask once if you want a heads-up for new versions. You can say no.

new

Keep your progress on a new phone

Setup now ends with one short, optional step.

Sign in with Apple or Google, and your streak, XP and reading spot move with you to a new phone.

Not ready? Tap Skip for now. The app works the same either way.

Your prayers always stay on your phone.

fixed

Version 1.0.1 fixes Partner and tips

Version 1.0.1 is now on the App Store.

The Partner page and tips now load the way they should. Before, they could show an error instead.

Update the app to get the fix.

changed

Bible rows now open reading-only notes

Bible rows now open the passage notes first. Read the About section, open Go deeper, and return to the passage without starting a task, prayer, XP reward, or streak change.

changed

Help center rebuilt for clear answers

The help center now uses the same light design as the homepage. It hides empty topics, keeps answers short, and checks each live article against the app and its specs.

fixed

Night Watch now shows the right answer

Night Watch now keeps the chosen answer and the result together. The recap also opens the verses that the watch stood over, so you can read what the task used.
