How do I ask my group to pray for me?
Short answer
In your group, tap Ask for prayer, write what you need, then tap Post
Ask for prayer
- Tap "Group"
- Find "Prayer requests" in your group
- Tap "Ask for prayer"
- Write what you need, up to 200 characters
- Tap "Post"
Who sees it
Only your group sees it, and moderators if someone reports it.
Share only what's yours to share. If you or someone is in danger, call your local emergency number.
How long it stays up
A request stays up for 7 days. After that, it disappears on its own unless you close it first.
Close your request
On your own request, tap "Close or delete". Pick one:
- "God answered": tells your group, and shows a short celebration for everyone
- "Still waiting on God": keeps the request up for 7 more days
- "Close with an update": ends it, with no celebration, and shows your group a short note (up to 80 characters)
- "Delete request": removes it right away, and your group stops seeing it
Thank the people who prayed
Once someone prays for you, tap "Thank them" to send one message to everyone who prayed: "Thank you for praying for me. I thank God for you"
How many can I have open
Up to 3 open requests in one group at a time.
Report or block
Tap a request that is not yours, then the menu, to report it or block the person who posted it. See How do I leave, block, or report in a group?
